Herald of Hope- Mobile Art by Baltimore Artist
About this image: Hope is a funny thing. It means something so personal to each and every person. It can be a blessing for those who need motivation to work toward a better day. It can also be a source of disappointment if you constantly hope for something better and don't stop to appreciate what you have and where you are right now in this moment. I've been working really hard this year to better improve my ability to stay in the moment; to practice mindfulness. Yoga and meditation has helped me a lot. I highly recommend it. :)
I often drive by this boarded up church and I am always fascinated by it. There is something so sad about a falling down, boarded up church. Something even sadder about it than other buildings, in my opinion. And yet the sign, the steeple, and the cross still hang proudly upon the exterior. If only we could divert our eyes upward all the time, we could miss the ugliness and sadness of earthly things.
Here are some of my favorite quotes about hope. Enjoy them and have a wonderful day. I plan on trying to leave the house for a bit today to catch some of this amazing weather we are having before snow is forecast to come in tonight.
We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope. -Martin Luther King, Jr.
Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all the darkness. -Desmond Tutu
Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.
-Helen Keller
and two of my all time favorite:
Hope is the thing with feathers-
That perches in the soul-
And sings the tune without the words-
And never stops at all.
-Emily Dickenson
Infuse your life with action. Don't wait for it to happen. Make it happen. Make your own future. Make your own hope. Make your own love. And whatever your beliefs, honor your creator, not by passively waiting for grace to come down from upon high, but by doing what you can to make grace happen...yourself, right now, right down here on Earth. -Bradley Whitford
