The Elysian, Chicago- Altered Photography by Tracey Grumbach

About this image:  The early morning fog hung just between the moon and the tops of the buildings, low along the skyline of Chicago. I watched it shift and drift as if it were its own living, breathing being as it weaved its way through the high rise buildings, caressing them in its dewy grip. I sat just long enough in the hotel window to see the clearing between me and the next building, The Elysian, and I raised the camera to take this shot. Then, within seconds, the scene and light shifted and moved again. That was back in 2013 and I still remember the quiet in the room as the kids were still asleep with rhythmic breathing. It was one of those moments that get frozen in your mind to create a beautiful, dreamlike memory.

Happy Tuesday! Have a beautiful day...

  1. Beautiful work. You can work with both city and rural scenes with equal facility.
