14/365- York Colonial Courthouse

------------

Well, I've made it two out of 52 weeks on the Project 365.  Only 50 more weeks to go! Honestly, the time has flown by so far, probably because it has been very crazy here with Brenna trying to get home and now trying to get back, the twins starting school and adjusting to that new schedule, after-school activities starting, and our weekends packed with all kinds of things.

As of right now, we had to cancel Brenna's flight back to Orlando because the school is still closed and her apartment complex still has no power. We can't send her back to an environment where the entire town has no power. All the food in her refrigerator and freezer is a total loss. The restaurants and food markets are pretty much closed. There are issues with the public sewer system and so using the bathroom is an issue. There are still curfews in place. There is still debris and power lines down...I just can't send her back to that if I can keep her here safely. We did read an update from the management of the apartment complex that no major damage was sustained to the complex, however, there was a lot of minor damage and the need for clean up. We will continue to monitor our options on a daily basis and hope for the best case scenario which would be for the power at her apartment complex to be restored before school reopens.  The power company has reported to the management that it will be perhaps a week in their area to have electric restored. We are hoping that means by Saturday at the latest there will be power.

The picture above was taken one day when I went to the rail trail in York, PA. The bike trail ends at the Colonial Complex where there are several colonial era buildings, including this courthouse dating back to the 1700's. One day I would love to tour the area and go into the museums they have there.

Hoping everyone has a great day. I am sitting here content, with my coffee and my keyboard listening to the gentle rain on the tin roof of our porch outside. Life doesn't get much better than that.
